Atlantic Delight on Folly Beach: Frolic, Unwind, Repeat
Loving honor to this Atlantic Oceanic Delight for creating ‘therapy-for-the-therapist’, a place to meditate early morning and a spot to do hours of yoga late afternoon til’ sundown~ over and over again. Folly Beach Island is a place we will always return to for solace, connectivity and restoration that helps to serve our communities in transformational ways.
May we support leaders who desire to make our natural environments of the deep south far more inviting for black communities, latinx folx & people of color (bipoc) ~ so that we may share more of these pristine places together from a deeper space of humanity.
Black communities of Charleston areas did forced enslaved labor that built many natural environments, along with developing much of the city as a whole. Let us increase cultural reverence as we visit these lands together~ for it is grief to not share spaces fluidly due to ongoing, layered divides and pervasive harms.
We are all here to enjoy days of play and relaxation on the beach. Our world is flat without cultural honor, appreciation and celebration of colorFULL people.
