Loving honor to this Atlantic Oceanic Delight for creating ‘therapy-for-the-therapist’, a place to meditate early morning and a spot to do hours of yoga late afternoon til’ sundown~ over and over again. Folly Beach Island is a place we will always return to for solace, connectivity and restoration that helps to serve our communities in transformational ways.

May we support leaders who desire to make our natural environments of the deep south far more inviting for black communities, latinx folx & people of color (bipoc) ~ so that we may share more of these pristine places together from a deeper space of humanity.

Black communities of Charleston areas did forced enslaved labor that built many natural environments, along with developing much of the city as a whole. Let us increase cultural reverence as we visit these lands together~ for it is grief to not share spaces fluidly due to ongoing, layered divides and pervasive harms.

We are all here to enjoy days of play and relaxation on the beach. Our world is flat without cultural honor, appreciation and celebration of colorFULL people.

Asheville’s PRIDE-based, culturally abundant, nature-feminine oriented spirituality, yogic and east-west arts reverent city is also a Southeastern arts center.

In recognition the stewards of this land are indigenous and have attempted to be eradicated by settler-colonial history – we respect and acknowledge that we are treating the people of Asheville on ancestral land of the Anikituwagi. We honor these root lands as that of the Anikituwagi, or what many now know as the Cherokee:

Three civic acknowledged Cherokee tribes are the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians, United Keetoowah Band of Cherokee Indians, and the Cherokee Nation.

Over the past 25 years, our founder has driven up the mountain from her/box free residence in ocean-based peninsula city Charleston, SC. to experience blue ridge solitude, the bond with mountain dwelling animals~ amidst subtropical mntn lushness, and connect with a heart-full yoga therapeutics community for continuing education as a yoga therapist her/box free self.

“Being amidst the progressiveness of this womxn-led city that protects and preserves the land is an infinite nest for my soul. I hope I can contribute mental health elevation to this beautiful community experiencing such great loss and devastation by supporting our mutual vision of seeing the trees still standing through the forest, while sitting with both the down trees– and folx who seek my support (one-by-one) amidst my own grief, as I treat the worst traumatic experiences they may have ever known.

I will continue to take a stand for climate change and fight for this unique Appalachian culture within the city of Avl, all its breath-giving mountain ridges and WNC as a whole. May we stand together, between our sister cities and within our unique Avl community.”
